Plans to turn a former office in Southampton into a two-bedroom flat have been given the green light.

The city council has approved an application relating to a semi-detached property beside a row of shops at Oakley Road.

A council report said the scheme was covered by permitted development rights.

It added: "The property is currently vacant and was occupied as an office for a care company which has since moved. The first floor is already in use as a flat."

The ground floor used to be occupied by Enthuse Care, which provided personal care to people living in their own homes.

It supported a wide range of clients, including those living with dementia, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and sensory impairment.
