A motorist has damaged his car for a third time this year after driving over a pothole in Ringwood.

Mr Ollington, 43, was driving his children to Burley Primary School on Friday morning in Burley Street when he had to pull over due to the damage caused by the pothole.

He told the Echo: “It’s a danger to drivers, you can see people swerving to drive around it.

“I don’t know if I’ve just been unlucky but it’s the third time a pothole has caused damage to my car this year.”

He has already forked out £500 this year on new tyres and an alloy, with another £110 estimated on the damage caused to his left front wheel.

The Mini Cooper driver from Ringwood has called on Hampshire County Council to repair the road and reduce the risk to motorists.

He said: “The council never seem to want to do anything.

“The roads are becoming worse to drive on these days and there are potholes everywhere that need repairing.”

The Echo has contacted Hampshire County Council.
