A man has been arrested for an attempted serious attack while police patrolled Southampton city centre.
The arrest took place on Thursday, according to officers from the City Centre Unit, who provided an update on Facebook.
The arrested person was described as a 'young man', and he was arrested for attempted grievous bodily harm, known as GBH.

The offence includes serious injury, such as broken limbs or deep wounds.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for more detail about this incident.
Also on Thursday, officers handed out 16 community resolutions for a variety of offences.
On Friday, officers in plain clothes were offered stolen goods by a man.
He was then arrested and taken into police custody. Police enquiries into this are ongoing.
A man was also arrested after a warrant was issued for not appearing in court.
The team also dealt with several shoplifting incidents.
