The biggest names in music are coming to Southampton in 2024 and there are exciting gigs across all of the city’s venues.
Pop superstars Take That will appear in two sold out shows at St Mary’s Stadium in June, while the inaugural Summer Sessions series in Guildhall Square will see legends Madness, Nile Rogers & CHIC, Tom Jones and Kaiser Chiefs headline across a fortnight in June.
And before that indie kings The Libertines will play an intimate show at Engine Rooms in February as they prepare to release their new album All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade, their first record since 2015.

At the O2 Guildhall, The Vaccines and its Southampton-born lead singer Justin Young will perform in February in support of their new record Pick-Up Full Of Pink Carnations, before headline appearances by Editors in March and Southampton’s break out star Caisy Baser in April.
Aspiring singers can join actor and singer Shaun Williamson, alias Barry from Eastenders, when he returns for a third time with his fun Barrioke karaoke show at Engine Rooms in February.
The West Quay Road venue also present Miles Kane and Circa Waves in February, Red Rum Club and Sea Girls in March and The Zutons in April.
The Joiners is set to host more of the best new sounds, with indie-rockers The Luka State, The Clockworks and Liverpool’s Courting appearing in February and Manchester’s Rosellas returning to Southampton in March.
And after supporting Jake Bugg at the O2 Guildhall in 2022 and writing Arsenal fans’ anthem The Angel, storyteller of north London life Louis Dunford returns with his own headline show at the St Mary Street venue.
Southampton’s Pioneers, who supported The Sherlocks here in October, play one of the first gigs of the year when they headline at Papillon on Commercial Road on January 5. Songwriter Tom Meighan plays the same venue in March before former Mansun frontman Paul Draper in April.
Independent music venue week is marked at The Brook in Portswood with a gig by hotly tipped four-piece The Clause with support from The Kairos, Dirty Blonde and Southampton’s Dead Freights.
In August, the three-day bank holiday weekend Victorious Festival returns to Southsea with a huge line-up of stars headlined by Jamie T, Fat Boy Slim, Snow Patrol and Biffy Clyro, and including Courteeners, Louis Tomlinson, Pixies, Becky Hill, Lightning Seeds and Reading rockers The Amazons.
