A Southampton travel agency branch has revealed the top 10 destinations people are jetting off to this festive season.
Barrhead Travel Southampton has shared that the prospect of winter sun has been very attractive, with plenty of Spanish and Canary Island spots featured.
The travel group has also reported bookings for departures across the festive break are already up over 10% compared with this time last year.
Demand for late bookings remains strong, with December amongst the group’s top five booking months for last week.
Additionally, Barrhead Travel Southampton says all-inclusive holidays remain very popular, accounting for more than one in four bookings for this period.
This data indicates that value for money is still top of the priority list for many customers this winter.

Stephanie Topping, Manager of Barrhead Travel Southampton, said; “There seems to be no slowing of demand for last-minute getaways this Christmas season.
"Our stores are reporting a renewed flurry of interest for escapes to the sun during the festive break.
“People are eager to get away to spend quality time with their families over Christmas and New Year and, this year in particular, warmer destinations are being favoured.
"All-inclusive holidays have been very popular thanks to the value-for-money they provide with everything included in one up-front cost.
“I do think we’ll continue to see spontaneous decisions to head abroad over the next few weeks. The cold weather appeared to prompt some people to firm up plans and stable pricing will likely encourage others to book this month.”
