Red Funnel has cancelled some of its ferry services due to repair work delays.
The firm which operates ferries between Southampton and Isle of Wight said the changes term from necessary repair works taking longer than expected to return the Red Falcon into service.
Red Kestrel, the operator's freight vessel, is being deployed to help ease demand.
All impacted customers are being contacted by Red Funnel, the operator has confirmed.
Some sailings were cancelled today and the following vehicle ferry sailings will be cancelled on Tuesday, January 2:
- Departing Southampton: 05:15, 08:15, 11:15, 14:15, 17:15
- Departing East Cowes: 06:45, 09:45, 12:45, 15:45, 18:45
Passengers travelling on December 30, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day will not be affected.
Leanna Lakes, Operations Director at Red Funnel, said: "We sincerely apologise for the changes to our timetable as we continue to undertake the necessary works needed to return Red Falcon into service.
“We appreciate how important travel is over the holidays and we thank our customers for their patience and understanding as these works are taking longer than anticipated. Please be assured that crossings on 30th Dec as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are unaffected."
