The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

BOBY THOMAS, 48, of Winchester Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating, one in Camberley, Surrey and one in Southampton. He was bailed to appear at the same court on February 28 for sentencing. 

DAWN SPACAGNA, 47, of Brookwood Road, Southampton admitted causing criminal damage to a custody holding cell at Southampton Central Police Station. She also admitted charges of common assault of an emergency worker and assault by beating of an emergency worker at Dyer Road, Southampton. She was given a one-year community order with 20 rehabilitation days. She must pay £200 compensation.

ADAM MUNDY, 38, of Henrick Close, Southampton admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a private place, namely a knuckle duster that was found on Weston Grove Road. He also admitted a charge of sending an offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message, namely an email. Mundy was given a one-year community order with 20 rehabilitation days and 60 hours of unpaid work. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the knuckle duster. 

LUKE HENNING, 42, of Edvale Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to three counts of common assault, one count of assault by beating, and two counts of theft from a shop. The thefts relate to a bottle of wine, fabric conditioner, coffee and washing-up liquid stolen from Co-Op in Southampton. Henning also admitted a charge of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence. He was given a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. He was excluded from entering Co-Op on Shirley Road for one year and must pay £208.50 in compensation. 

DAMIEN BERG, 21, of Shearer Road, Portsmouth pleaded guilty to exceeding a 40mph speed limit on the A27 Cams Hill in Fareham. He was driving an Audi A1 when he was caught by manned equipment driving at 72mph. Berg was fined £150 and received six points on his licence. He must pay court costs of £110 and a £60 surcharge.
