Snow has been forecast for Southampton this afternoon after temperatures plunged.
According to the Met Office's predictions this morning (Monday January 8 2024), we can expect a heavy snow shower at around 4pm, followed by light snow showers until 7pm.
A cold snap swept in overnight, bringing temperatures of 2C, feeling like -2C, to the city first thing this morning.

At 4pm, a 60 per cent chance of snow has been forecast. This drops to 30 per cent an hour later, rising again to a 50 per cent chance of snow at 6pm. There's 40 per cent chance of snow at 7pm.
The Met Office describe today's weather as 'cold, especially in the wind' with 'some wintry showers possible'.
It will be cloudy and cold with limited sunny spells all day with coastal winds exacerbating the cold feel. Temperatures will vary between 3 and -3 °C.
Things are expected to brighten up tomorrow with sunny spells and temperatures of 4 °C expected.
