Iceland has announced it will be closing one of its stores in Southampton.
The frozen food supermarket chain has said it will be closing its Portswood branch on Saturday, March 2.
The chain did not give a reason for the closure but added that its Shirley, Bitterne Village and Winchester Road branches will continue to operate as usual.
The spokesperson added: “We'd like to thank all of our staff and customers for their continued support.”
The chain adds to the list of stores which have closed in Southampton in the last year, which include Jack Wills, New Look and Wilko.
It comes after a number of Iceland stores across the UK closed last year.
Richard Walker, the executive chairman of Iceland, told the Express newspaper that some closures are simply down to expiring leases. In some cases, shopping patterns have also changed.
