Contaminated diesel at a petrol station in Hythe has forced the closure of some pumps.
Motorists filling up their vehicles at Tesco in Sizer Way encountered a nasty surprise on Sunday.
Rainwater leaked into one of the fuel storage tanks at the Hythe filling station.
Several drivers reported being affected by the incident on social media.
One person said: “I filled my car up tonight at Tesco and didn’t get off the forecourt.
“Instead of diesel going in it was water.”

Another motorist urged people to avoid the petrol station, saying ‘there are cars broken down nearby, be careful’.
Tesco confirmed diesel contaminated with water was sold, but the issue is being resolved.
A spokesperson said: “Some of the diesel pumps at the petrol filling station at our Hythe superstore are currently closed whilst maintenance work is conducted after rainwater leaked into one of the fuel storage tanks.
