Beautiful Massage in Southampton set to reopen after fire

Somwang Khanajan, 47, owner of Beautiful Massage in Commercial Road said she was “devastated” when her business caught fire at 10.30am on December 18, 2023.

Several fire engines and police cars were at the scene in Commercial Road, after a tumble dryer inside the parlour building went up in flames.

Fire crews from St Mary’s, Redbridge, Hightown, Totton and Eastleigh were dispatched to tackle the blaze, which was extinguished around 12.15pm.

But now, after spending between £13,000 and £15,000 on repairs, the parlour is set to reopen this Friday. 

Somwang said she wants her loyal customers to know she will be back open and in full swing adding: “It has been very difficult as a business owner to pick up the pieces and rebuild".

“It has been so much work. We were in need of a new floor, new lights and electrics as well as having to repaint the building.

“I am very grateful to all my friends and to my boyfriend for helping me out.

“My customers have been calling me every day to find out when we will be back so I’m so happy to finally welcome them back in.

“I even had people I know from Thailand ring up to see how I was – that was really heart warming.”

The parlour offers a range of different massages including a hard deep tissue massage, a Swedish massage, and a full body massage.

Massages are available for both men and women with it costing £55 for an hour and £35 for a half hour massage.
