A man in his 30s has suffered serious injuries after being struck by a motorist at a car wash in Eastleigh.
A 23-year-old man, believed to have been under the influence of drugs, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Police and paramedics were called to the serious crash at Car Wash Bay in Bishopstoke Road just before 12.15pm.
The air ambulance was also called, according to reports, but the victim was taken to hospital by road ambulance.
A Southampton man was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless / inconsiderate driving and driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs.
He remains in custody while the investigation continues.
A large police cordon was set up in the area as crime scene investigators worked to establish what happened.
They were seen looking inside and taking pictures of a white Range Rover parked at the car wash.
It was eventually towed away.
