A stylish new bar with a twist has opened in the heart of Bedford Place.
A halfway house between an off licence and a tap room, Bottle and Stoat is the newest place to grab a tipple.
The bar and bottle shop opened its doors on Wednesday, with owners Maz and Rob Price at the helm.
But this is not the married couple’s first foray into the world of pubs and bars.
Maz, 34, said; “Rob and I have been running Olaf’s Tun in Woolston since 2020. We also ran a pub in Romsey before that.
“The former owner of Good Libations in Bedford Place approached us in November of last year and wondered if we would be interested in taking over the lease from him.
“We have been looking for a second site for about a year and we knew we wanted it to be in the Southampton area.
“So, when the Good Libations site came up it seemed like the perfect fit.”
Bottle and Stoat specialises in craft beer, wine, and cider, combining a bar with a range of drinks available to purchase.
These can also be ‘taken away to enjoy’ at home.

Speaking ahead of the opening, Maz said: “Rob and I are both really excited.
“It’s a new challenge, location, and customer base, but the response has been really, really positive so far.
“We have had really good feedback.”
Maz and Rob opened Bottle and Stoat for a ‘soft launch’ on Monday and Tuesday and both days were met with great success.
The pair are excited to be involved in the thriving Bedford Place community.
Maz said: “We are always keen to work with other people, including pubs and businesses in Bedford Place.
“It’s such a nice street and a really nice place to be a part of. Hopefully, all these independent businesses will bring more crowds to the area and help all of us working here.
“Southampton gets massively overlooked for the number of independent businesses it has.
“Rob and I are keen to promote Southampton as a destination city for people to enjoy craft beer and pubs.”
Bottle and Stoat is open 12pm-9pm on a Monday, 12pm to 10pm from Tuesday to Thursday, 12pm to 11pm Friday and Saturday, and 12pm to 9pm on a Sunday.
