A teenager has been left with a suspected broken nose after he was robbed by four people.

The victim, in his late teens, was approached by a gang of two men and two girls and assaulted in the graveyard at St Thomas the Apostle Church, on St Thomas Street in Lymington.

The incident happened between 5.45pm and 6pm on Saturday. He suffered a suspected broken nose. His phone was stolen but later found damaged beyond repair.

Following the attack, a 33-year-old man from Lymington has since been arrested and charged with robbery and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court .

Two other people, a 57-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, both from Lymington, were also arrested on suspicion of robbery but have since been released on bail.

Detective Constable Lisa Cole, who is investigating the robbery said the incident would have happened at a busy time of the day and there would have been plenty of footfall around the area.

She said: “It also happened adjacent to The Six Bells, which was busy with patrons at the time. If you were in The Six Bells that night, do you recall seeing anything which might us in our investigation?

“The victim described people passing by and being told not to intervene by the attackers. Perhaps you were one of these people. If you, were please get in touch with us.”
