Pizza chain Domino’s has reopened one of its takeaways two months after a fire. 

The Lymington branch in St Thomas Street reopened on Monday following “minor” refurbishment work. 

Last December, the fire service had to extinguish a fire which started from an electric fan heater in the flat above.

Fire crews worked to isolate the gas and electric supplies before using breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire with a jet and hose reel.  

Fiona Hanslow, operations manager at SK Group (which runs the takeaway), said: “We are thrilled to reopen our store in Lymington and get back to serving the local area with the nation’s favourite pizza. 

“We would like to thank the Lymington community for their support while we freshened up the store. 

“The team has worked tirelessly to get the store back up and running, and we look forward to welcoming back both familiar and new faces.” 

The takeaway had been operating from a temporary facility since the fire broke out in the early hours of December 4. 

SK Group would not say what damage was caused by the flat fire above.  

Domino’s Lymington was previously operating at a temporary location following a fire above the St Thomas Street store in early December.
