A mum-of-three has said she was unable to move for hours on end after a horror crash.

Fardina Rahimi was driving home when she was involved in the collision on Kendal Avenue in Millbrook.

Shocked and disoriented, she left her car to survey the damage but suddenly collapsed in the middle of the road.

Speaking out after the terrifying ordeal, the 34-year-old has re-lived the moment of the crash.

Fardina said: “I turned right onto the mini roundabout and as I looked in my mirror, I saw a car.

“I remember thinking to myself ‘I hope a car crash won’t happen’.

“But then it looked like the driver lost control and crashed into the front of my car.

“Both of us got out and a lady came over to ask if we were ok. Suddenly, I collapsed and I don’t know what happened after that.”

Fardina remembers coming to and being surrounded by paramedics at the crash scene before being taken to Southampton General Hospital.

"When the crash happened, I felt like I had been pushed really hard on my back, but my speed was so slow my airbag didn’t even come out," she said.

An X-ray was carried out and it was found Fardina had ‘abnormalities’ in her spine following the crash on January 19.

She received strict instructions not to move for six hours, with tape used to keep her head firmly in place.

Although the extent of her physical injuries is thankfully minimal, the crash has left emotional and financial scars.

Fardina was driving her Land Rover Discovery – worth £42,000 – which she had only had for five months.

The vehicle has since been written off, affecting her family’s day-to-day activities.

She said: “I used my car to take my children to school and after-school clubs.

“My husband has to do everything now which is really difficult for him as he works on the road, and we are struggling financially.

“We are waiting on our insurance.”

She added: “I have used this road and roundabout for 14 years and I have never had an accident, or a single point on my licence.

“I am now worried about having another accident whenever I’m in the car with my husband.

“This has given me anxiety, it has really affected me.”

Shocking photos show the extent of the damage to both cars, with debris strewn across the road.

The crash closed Kendal Avenue at the junction with Cuckmere Lane as emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police previously said: "The drivers, a man and a woman, reported minor injuries at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital for further assessment.

"A male passenger in one of the vehicles also reported minor injuries.”
