Residents have called for a hazardous Audi to be removed from a popular Southampton dog walking route after being there for almost a week.
As reported in the Echo on Tuesday, February 13, residents were horrified to find the wrecked 18-month-old car on Cemetery Road.
Many have called for the wreckage to be removed as glass and car parts litter the streets and surrounding area.
It was first reported as damaged to police on Friday.
Portswood resident Nick Fleming, who walks through Cemetery Road regularly, said: “In terms of availability and resources – towing away this car is probably going to be at the bottom of the list for the council and police.”
Other residents said that the council should make towing the vehicle a matter of urgency to stop people getting injured.
Another resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “Someone needs to get this moved quickly – what if a group of children thought it would be a good idea to get in the car?
“They would be torn to shreds.”
In response to residents calls, a council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the abandoned vehicle outside the cemetery and are investigating the situation.”
