A popular bistro in the heart of Southampton has closed its doors for good.
The owner of Tim’s Bistro has bid farewell to customers after five years at the helm of the Bedford Place restaurant.
In a statement posted to the window of the premises, Tim said: “Dear Friends and Customers
“I have decided to hang up my apron after five years running the Bistro.
“Having spent 43 years in the hospitality industry I have decided to pursue a different career path, but not before taking a well-earned break.
“The Bistro will now be closed until the new owners take over. I am sure you will show them the same support and loyalty as you have done for me.
“On a personal note, it has been an amazing experience meeting and serving you all, and I will take fond memories with me.
“With Best Wishes, Tim.”
The restaurant closed at the end of January and it is not yet known whether the Tim's Bistro brand will remain or a different restaurant will replace it.
It comes after neighbouring Lakaz Maman – the restaurant of Masterchef champion Shelina Permalloo - closed its doors.
