A man has been fined for not making repairs to his eyesore house.
Alan Abbott of Frome Road in West End failed to repair a damaged window and prune overgrown shrubs at his property.
He has now been slapped with a hefty fine and costs totalling £650.
Mr Abbott, who owns the end-of-terrace property, pleaded guilty to one count of failing to repair or replace first floor windows on the side and rear elevations.
Chair of the Hedge End, West End and Botley Local Area Committee, Councillor Cynthia Garton, said: “Neglected properties can have a very negative impact on the appearance of the local street scene and the quality of life for neighbours.
“Prosecution is always a last resort and the council team are to be congratulated for this successful action which we hope will send a clear message to other property owners in Eastleigh Borough.”

In January 2023, a notice was served on Mr Abbott of the house in relation to the condition of the property and the impact it was having on the visual amenity of the surrounding area.
The side of the house, with its damaged window and overgrown shrubs, overlooks a residents’ parking area.
The owner failed to carry out the works which were required to be completed by May 30, 2023.
He was handed a £250 fine and ordered to pay £300 costs and a £100 victim surcharge.
