A man has been jailed for stealing more than £200 worth of items including, meat, chocolate, cheese and advent calendars.
Lee Barnes, 41, of no fixed address, was also ordered to pay £396.40 in compensation following the 11 incidents between July and November last year in Hythe.
He was sentenced last Monday, February 12 at Southampton Magistrates' Court.
Eight of the thefts occurred at Tesco Express, Langdown Lawn in Hythe.
H stole more than £200 worth of meat, coffee, chocolate, cheese, biscuits, laundry detergent and advent calendars.
Two of the thefts were from One Stop, Fairview Parade, where he stole more than £50 worth of meat and chocolate.
The other theft took place at Superdrug, High Street, where Barnes left the store with £179 worth of make-up, having made no attempt to pay for it.
Barnes pleaded guilty to all 11 offences.
A police spokesperson has said: “If you are a shop owner or staff member, please continue to report any shopliftings to us.
“You can do this by calling 101, or by reporting online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.”
