The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...
CRAIG DANIELS, 34, of Benbow Gardens, Calmore was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Totton. This relates to an attack on his partner where he spat at her and prevented her from phoning for help. He had been drinking at the time. He received a six-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months with 10 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work. He was given a restraining order for 16 months. Daniels must pay £775 court costs and a £154 surcharge.
DAVID RUSSELL, 35, of Millbrook Road West, Southampton admitted to driving whilst disqualified, drug driving and driving without insurance. These offences were committed in a Peugeot Boxer Van on Southampton Road in Lyndhurst. Russell was jailed for four weeks and was banned from driving for three years. He must pay £85 court costs.

JAY KITCHER, 24, of Helvellyn Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from a shop. He stole a Yankee Candle worth £78.95. He also stole £120 worth of stock from Central Convenience Stores and items including toiletry supplies worth £77 from Southern Co-Op. Kitcher was jailed for 14 days.
DANIEL SHAYLER, 45, of Lynchet Close, Brighton admitted speeding on the M27 between junctions ten and nine. He was driving westbound in a Honda when he was clocked at 98mph by an automatic camera near Fareham. The national 70mph limit was in place at the time. Shayler was fined £80 and received four penalty points. He must pay a £32 surcharge.
LEE BARNES, 41, of Finley Place, Havant pleaded guilty to 11 counts of theft from a shop. These relate to £456.20 worth of meat, make up, beer, chocolate, cheese, biscuits, coffee and laundry detergent he stole from shops across Hythe. Barnes was jailed for 11 weeks. He must pay £456.20 in compensation.
