A man in his 20s has sustained minor injuries after being assaulted during an altercation on Above Bar Street.
Police are investigating the events that took place on Friday, February 23.
The incident led a man in his 20s to suffer bruises to his face, police said. The man's phone was also broken.
A spokesperson for the police said: "It was reported to us shortly before 11.30pm on Friday 23 February that a man had been assaulted on Above Bar Street.
"Officers on foot patrol in the city centre attended and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are currently ongoing.
"The man, who is in his 20s, sustained minor injuries to his face."
