Two 16-year-olds have been arrested on suspicion of having cannabis and a large knife in Whitestar Place, Southampton.
Police have detained two teenagers after receiving reports of anti-social behaviour in car parks in Whitestar Place on Thursday night.
A group of youths attempted to evade officers, but two of the teens were caught by police.
The officers found cannabis and a discarded bag – with a large Rambo knife inside.
Writing on social media, an officer involved said: “Last night, Bargate Neighbourhoods were on patrol in the Whitestar Place area of Southampton after receiving reports of anti-social behaviour in and around residential car parks.
“Upon attendance, a group of young males were present and attempted to evade officers. Bargate officers detained two of the males in a car park and began a S23 Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 search after observing drug paraphernalia and a strong scent of cannabis.

“Police located a quantity of cannabis and a discarded bag, within it a large Rambo style knife.
“Both males were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of class B drugs.
“One of the males were further arrested after he attempted to escape lawful custody.
“Both young males have since been released from custody on police conditional bail whilst enquiries into the above offences continue.
The officer said residents should report any incidents of anti-social behaviour to the police.
A spokesperson for the force told the Echo: “The arrests occurred at around 6.40pm on February 29.
“The incident took place in a car park in Whitestar Place; two 16-year-old boys from Southampton were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“One of the boys was also arrested on suspicion of an additional offence of resisting arrest.
“Both have been bailed with conditions until 29 May while enquiries continue.”
