Gritters are taking to the roads as Southampton prepares for a night of near-freezing temperatures.
The Met Office says today's temperature will drop to 4C by 11pm, 2C by 3am tomorrow and 1C by 6am before starting to improve from 8am onwards.
Posting online Hampshire County Council Highways said: "Our gritters will be out later today on the priority 1 routes.
"The forecast is a dry night with clear spells. RSTs will fall below zero with a risk of ice & frost."
The gritters will be heading out at 6pm in northern and central parts of the county, and 8pm in southern areas.
