The immersive true-crime experience 'The Murder Trial Live' will be in Southampton from August 9 to 11.

Based on the infamous cases of Dennis Nilsen and Jeffrey Dahmer, the interactive event offers audiences an insight into the UK legal system by allowing them to participate as jury members in a mock trial.

The trial, conducted by real criminal barristers, concerns fictional defendant Jack Brewer, accused of more than 20 murders and even eating parts of his victims' flesh. First touring in 2018, the event is designed to put the UK jury system on trial in a social experiment setting.

Following a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the production, now run by Showtour Ticketing, is back on the road. Showtour, having processed £200,000 in refunds, has invested £500,000 in the upcoming tour, featuring an inflatable courtroom area with street food vendors and a prosecco and gin bar.

'The Murder Trial Live' allows audience members to deliberate on evidence, including forensic and post-mortem reports that suggest Brewer plotted and executed his crimes in cold blood.
