Hampshire police are launching their 'Let's Talk' initiative to improve policing through a community survey.

Members of the Hampshire Alert and Isle of Wight Alert messaging systems will receive updates from their neighbourhood policing teams about action taken based on feedback received.

'Let's Talk' follows a successful one-month pilot in Havant and Waterlooville.

The initiative is now active across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Head of local policing, acting assistant chief constable Clare Jenkins said: "Let’s Talk will help us to better understand the needs of our local communities and will enable the public to share any concerns with our officers.

"We want to know what it’s like to live in your area - what the issues you face are and how can we work with others to make communities safer and stronger.

"Our neighbourhood officers are fully aware of the impact local problems can cause. They are committed to listening to the concerns of our communities and to addressing the issues that will make a difference in their daily lives.

"If you see one of our officers or PCSOs knocking at your door, please spare a few minutes to talk to them. Alternatively, you can have your say online by visiting www.hampshirealert.co.uk/letstalk."
