Drivers near West Quay Road faced travel disruption this morning after a crash.
The busy Southampton road, that runs past Ikea and West Quay Shopping Centre, can often become congested during rush hour but Tuesday, February 5 saw tailbacks longer than usual.
A crash involving just one car caused congestion for many drivers travelling into work, with Southampton City Council warning drivers to avoid the area if possible.
Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, the council wrote: “RTC West Quay Road, junction with Harbour Parade, westbound. Please approach with Care.
Around two hours later, the council stated: “All vehicles have now been cleared and all lanes have been re-opened.”
Confirming the incident, a spokesperson for Hampshire police said: “We were called at 6am to a collision on West Quay Road involving one car. No injuries reported.”
