Police have made an arrest after a knife-wielding man was seen in Portswood this morning.
Police have confirmed they were called around 9.42am to the incident on Portswood Road.
Officers responded and arrested a 29-year-old man from Liverpool on suspicion of criminal damage, possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place, and affray.
He remains in police custody at this time, police added.

As previously reported a nearby shop owner saw the incident unfold.
Shop owner, Goran Karod, 40, said he was having a cigarette when he saw the man holding what appeared to be a big kitchen knife.
During the incident he claimed a bike lock was thrown towards a bus driving nearby.
The police statement is as follows: “We were called to a report at 9.42am today (Thursday 7 March) to a report of a man, in possession of a knife, damaging vehicles in Portswood Road, Southampton.
“Officers attended the scene and detained a 29-year-old man from Liverpool.
“He was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage, possession of a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place, and affray.
“The man remains in police custody at this time and officers’ enquiries into this incident are ongoing.”
