Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed that all roads and footbridges that were closed have fully reopened following a warehouse fire at Marine Parade.
This comes after emergency services tackled a blaze at Polystar Plastics' industrial unit opposite St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday, March 6.
Marine Parade was closed between Belvidere Road and Chapel Road due to the incident where large plumes of smoke could be seen from as far away as the Isle of Wight.

The fire service confirmed on Friday evening that the surrounding roads and footbridges had now reopened as Southampton Football Club host Sunderland in a Football League Championship fixture at 3pm, Saturday afternoon, after the club’s previous fixture against Preston North End – due to take place on Wednesday evening – was postponed as a result of the fire.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the fire service said: “Following assessments of the site of the fire and its surrounding areas by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and Southampton City Council, all services in the area have resumed as usual.”
They added: “All roads have reopened, and all activities have resumed.”
