A 24-carat gold ring was stolen during a burglary in Southampton, police have said.

Police were called at around 7.40pm last Friday (March 15), to reports that three unknown men broke into the rear of a property on West End Road.

One of the men was wearing a black face covering and a white baseball cap while another wore a dark woollen hat and a white face covering.

They left through the front door after stealing a 24-carat gold ring while the residents were not home.

Police are now looking to speak to anyone who was in the area who may have seen the burglary.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “Were you in the area at the time? Did you see anyone acting suspiciously? Do you have any CCTV or doorbell footage that may be useful to our officers?

“If you have any information regarding this incident, please call 101 quoting reference 44240112537.”
