Police have raided a house opposite a school after they were tipped off about a number of cannabis plants.
Hampshire Police were first alerted to the plants, at a property on Waterloo Road in Freemantle, on Monday morning but according to a resident, no police presence was seen in the area until noon on Tuesday.
No arrests have been made.
One resident told the Echo said: “It was around 4 o’clock in the morning on Monday and me and my wife heard banging in the back garden."

The resident’s home is one of many that backs on to the property in question.
He said that he saw a dark Volkswagen estate outside of the property and four men running in and out with "huge" clear bags of cannabis plants and putting them in the car.
"That is when I decided to call the police because I didn’t know if anyone had been hurt inside. Despite calling the police, I did not see any police activity on Waterloo Road until noon the next day.
"It’s right opposite of school and all you can smell is cannabis."
