Leisure centre bosses have apologised after a leak forced a children’s play area to close.
Fareham Leisure Centre has confirmed that repairs are underway to resolve the splashpad issue, and hope to have the play area reopen again in May. It closed in February.
Ryan Grant, contract manager, told the Echo: “We can confirm that work is currently underway to repair a leak within the splashpad at Fareham Leisure Centre.

“The work is progressing well with an estimated completion date in April. We are aiming to reopen the splashpad in May.”
He added: “We will update our customers again as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused. All other facilities remain open during the works.”
The news comes just days after Winchester Leisure Centre – which is managed by Everyone Active along with the Fareham site – announced its children’s water play area would be open to customers by the Easter holidays after it closed in January due to a fault with rubber flooring.
