The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

CHANGIZ KHAN, 33, of Hilldown Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen. He received a one-year community order with 10 rehabilitation days and 50 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from driving for six months and must pay £85 court costs plus a £114 surcharge.

MARC PALMER, 43, of Landguard Road, Southampton admitted theft from a shop after two pairs of trainers worth £99.98 were stolen from Tk Maxx in Southampton. He received a six-month conditional discharge and must pay £99.98 in compensation. 

DANIEL SMITH, 25, of Rumbridge Street, Totton pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He must pay £500 compensation and a £460 fine.

STEVEN BENHAM, 52, of Milner Court, Southampton was convicted of two counts of racially or religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress. He also pleaded guilty to failing to surrender to bail. Benham received a three-month sentence suspended for 12 months with a £20 fine.

SHAUN FOSKETT, 33, of no fixed abode pleaded guilty to five counts of theft from a shop relating to £282.90 worth of energy drinks and alcohol stolen from Co-Op and Tesco stores in Southampton. He also admitted to failing or refusing to provide a sample for a Class A drug test. Foskett received a community order with an accredited course and ten rehabilitation days. He was ordered to pay £115 in compensation. 

WILLIAM SCRIVEN, 33, of Cuckmere Lane, Southampton admitted to assault by beating of an emergency worker and assault by beating. He received a one-year community order with 16 rehabilitation days and 100 hours of unpaid work. He must pay £200 in compensation, court costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge.

DEBORAH MAWSON, 36, of Princes Drive, Waterlooville admitted to stealing various foot items from Lidl worth £209.88. Mawson was fined £120 and was ordered to pay £85 court costs.
