A food bank drive will be launched at Mayflower Theatre next week to coincide with the arrival of Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away.
Teaming up with Theatrical Lydia for her Pay It Forward 9/11 Campaign, they are asking audience members to bring an item of non-perishable food for the Feed the Community Foodbank in Southampton.
At the heart of Come From Away is a real-life story about compassion, community, and resilience when 7,000 stranded passengers were welcomed in the wake of 9/11.
Influencer Theatrical Lydia is following the show's tour around the UK in honour of her friend and super fan Laura Townsend. who passed away last year.
She has joined the global initiative set up by a real-life 'Come From Away' who features in the show.
It aims to spread kindness as a way to honour the Newfoundlanders who inspired the production’s heart-warming true story.
Come From Away is at Mayflower Theatre from Tuesday to Saturday (April 16 to 20).
