A frustrated vigilante has taken matter into their own hands by graffitiing a caravan which has been dumped on a road for months.
The white caravan has plagued Clifton Road, in the Regent's Park area of Southampton, for more than two months.
But reaching the end of their tether, one person has spray-painted 'council remove' and 'council remove this' over the vehicle.
Residents on the residential road say they have grown frustrated that the caravan was not removed after Southampton City Council placed a seven-day destruction notice on the vehicle, and that it has become an eyesore.
Peter Rodaway said he is not surprised it has been vandalised.
The 69-year-old told the Echo: “It’s been there for as long as two months, if not longer.
“It looks like someone has finally had enough of it in the road and made the decision to graffiti it with a clear message.

“Two seven-day destruction notices have been placed on the caravan, but the first one had been there so long it washed off in the bad weather we’d had.”
As well as being graffitied with a not-so-subtle message – Peter also noticed that the trailer had been damaged.
He said: “It’s been completely ransacked, and the door has been taken clean off of it.
“I don’t understand why it couldn’t have been moved on by now, if noting else it makes the area look really untidy, particularly now with the graffiti sprayed all over it, but I suppose someone has just had enough and done something to try and get the council to act.
“The council has a duty of care and it’s not a good look for them to be neglecting their responsibilities of public service – the matter has been ongoing for far too long.”
In a statement, a spokesperson for Southampton City Council told the Echo: “A 24-hour destruction notice was served on the caravan yesterday, however due to the significant volumes of waste within the vehicle, it will take a little longer than expected.”
They added: “As soon as we are able to remove the vehicle we will do so.”
