A Southampton furniture shop that was a community staple for 25 years is set to be transformed into a bar lounge.
Warne’s on Shirley Road first opened to customers in Southampton in 1998 and sold a range of furniture and household items.
Ran by Nick and Ann Warne, the shop had been a destination for those looking for bedroom furniture such as beds, mattresses, headboards, and more.
But it closed in November 2022 when they decided to retire - and has sat vacant since, until now.
A notice, displayed in the window of the building, shows that the vacant premises is set to become a bar lounge called Cozy Seven.
The new bar is now looking for bar staff to work weekend and weekday shifts.
As stated on the notice, the bar is looking for experienced baristas and bartenders to man the new venue.
On January 2, Southampton City Council received an application for a licence to serve alcohol at the premises from 10am to 11pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sunday.
It also applied for live music from 4pm to 11pm and recorded music from 8am to 11pm, seven days a week.
