Following recent sea trials, the keel laying ceremony took place and a ceremonial bottle was smashed against the vessel as Cunard took ownership of their stunning new 3,000-guest ship during a traditional handover ceremony.
Crowds gathered to wave an emotional farewell to the ship as she set sail for Southampton where she is now due to arrive on Tuesday (April 30).
Queen Anne, the 249th ship to sail under the Cunard flag, will set off on her sold out seven-night maiden voyage to Lisbon on Friday May 3.
Captain Inger Thorhauge is at the helm of the 113,000-ton Queen.
