The highly anticipated arrival of a new Cunard ship in Southampton has been given a new time.

Queen Anne will now arrive into the city at 8pm today, according to the ABP website.

The impressive vessel was due in at the weekend but is now due in today ahead of her maiden voyage.

She was originally due to arrive on April 27, which was later pushed back to 3pm on Tuesday.

Cruise ship enthusiasts can now expect her arrival on Tuesday evening.

Solent Cruises, which offers boat tours from Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, said their special sailing for the event has been pushed back.

Posting on Facebook, the company said: "Not long to go until Cunard's Queen Anne arrives in the Solent.

"She is slightly delayed so our trip will now be departing at 5.30pm tomorrow on the 30th April.

"If you are already booked you will have an email with the details."

A flotilla of boats was expected to greet Queen Anne as she arrives in Southampton, with thousands more spectators watching from the shoreline.

The liner is the 249th ship introduced to Cunard’s fleet in its 184-year history.
