The Northern Lights lit up the skies of Southampton and the New Forest.
Hampshire was bathed in hues of red and green as the rare phenomenon was seen overhead in the early hours of Saturday.
This was due to one of the strongest geomagnetic storms for years hitting Earth.
The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) issued a rare solar storm warning as a result, according to the BBC.
Members of the Daily Echo Camera Club were quick to get their phones and cameras out to take a lasting record of the spectacular light show across the area including in Lymington, the New Forest, Thornhill, Chandler's Ford and Hedge End.
