Emergency services have been called due to concerns for a woman on the Itchen Bridge.
Police and paramedics were spotted on the bridge at around 4.46pm yesterday afternoon (May 12).
It followed reports of concern for the welfare of a woman who had been spotted on the bridge.
The bridge was closed in both directions whilst the incident was dealt with.
Officers attended and the woman was brought to safety at 6.19pm.
The key route remained shut for around an hour and a half.
