A man has been charged following a series of stalking offences in Portswood.
On Wednesday, police received a report from a woman in her 20s that a man unknown to her had been loitering around her flat and attempting to look through the windows on several occasions dating back to January.
It was reported that on May 15, the man was also seen outside the victim's daughter's school, prompting her to call the police.
At the time of these reports, officers were also investigating a report made by a 20-year-old woman that on several occasions in March and May, a man unknown to her had been seen outside her address throwing things at her window and attempting to engage with her.
Hampshire Police said that Pirouz Mofrad, of Highfield Lane, was arrested in connection with both reports on Wednesday evening and has now been charged with two counts of stalking involving serious alarm and distress.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates Court on Friday.
Following this, police are urging anyone who has been the victim of stalking to contact police on 101 where they can report things in confidence.
A police spokesperson said: "We understand that not everyone has the confidence to speak to police right away.
"There are support services, independent of the police, who can help you if you’ve been a victim of stalking. For more information, visit the stalking and harassment support page on our website."
