A popular furniture shop in Chandler's Ford has shut suddenly - leaving customers confused.
Peter Green on School Lane currently has a sign in the window of the front door which states: “Peter Greens will be shut until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience.”
Customers of the furniture store have been turning up on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, to find that the store is shut.
The store has been in business for 68 years in the area and was open as recently as Friday, May 24, when one customer said she picked up a catalogue from the store.

A former employee of Peter Greens for three years has spoken to the Echo but wanted to remain unnamed.
He said: “I have been made aware from colleagues that are still with Peter Green that a meeting is to be held to discuss the future next week.
“Many of the staff have been left not knowing if they will continue to have a job.
“It's really sad that a business that has been running for almost 70 years could close. It’s a beautiful store that stocked all the furniture you could think of.”
