A primary school in Southampton has been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted following a recent inspection.

Banister Primary School on Archers Road has been given the new rating after the regulator conducted a two-day inspection of the school in April.

The primary school had previously been inspected in 2018 and maintains its ‘good’ rating, which it has held for over a decade.

The Ofsted report noted: “Pupils thrive in this caring and nurturing school.

“Staff have high aspirations for all pupils to achieve their very best, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and the high numbers of pupils who speak English as an additional language.
