Police have broken up a party at a quiet Hampshire village which has led to two arrests and a man being charged.

On Saturday, May 25, police were called to reports of loud music, partying and ‘anti-social behaviour’ on New Road in Swanmore.

Writing on X, an unnamed officer who responded to the incident said: “Following reports of a party in Swanmore which disturbed residents overnight and concerns that they would leave under the influence of alcohol, we acted on this information.

“The force seized five vehicles for document offences and arrested two people for impairment offences.”

Following the arrests, police have now charged a 33-year-old man from Southport with being above the legal limit for alcohol and driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We were called at 10.51pm on Saturday, May 25, to reports of anti-social behaviour on New Road, Swanmore.

“It was reported that loud music was being played and that cars were being driven dangerously and used in an anti-social way.

“Officers from Roads Policing and District Policing Teams attended the scene and arrested two men. Four vehicles were seized.

“A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving over the prescribed alcohol limit and immigration offences.

“He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries and bailed until the Monday 3 June for immigration offences.

“Vakamuina Muundjua, 33, of Duke Street, Southport, was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit and driving a motor vehicle otherwise in accordance with a licence.

“He has been bailed and is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates Court on Thursday 20 June.”
