Police were called to reports of a man with a knife outside a well-known pub in West End.

Last weekend pub-goers in West End took to social media to say that two men had been involved in an altercation outside the Master Builder Pub in West End, with one man reported to be in possession of a knife.

Officers attended the scene of the pub on Swaythling Road but said that the culprits were not identified.

Police are now asking anyone with information to get in touch with them.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We were called at 4.49pm on Sunday 26 May to reports of an altercation on Swaythling Road.

“It was reported that a man was in possession of a knife.

“Officers attended the scene and no one involved in the reported incident was identified. No injuries were reported.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact 101, quoting 44240221180.”
