The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

ZACHARY LOWE, 36, of HMP Bristol admitted four counts of theft from a shop after £157.73 worth of easter eggs, cheese and chocolate were stolen from Co-Op in Southampton. He was jailed for one week and was ordered to pay £126.70.

MEGAN WATERIDGE, 25, of Whistler Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident on Kathleen Road, Southampton. She was driving a BMW at the time when a crash occurred where damage was caused to another vehicle. She also admitted to driving without due care and attention and failing to report an accident. Wateridge received eight points on her licence and was fined £200. She must pay £85 court costs and an £80 surcharge. 

DANIEL BARNES, 34, of Fort Road, Rochester pleaded guilty to four counts of theft from a shop. These relate to £510.15 worth of food and laundry items stolen from Co-Op in Netley and Southampton. He was jailed for eight weeks and must pay £250 in compensation.

ANTHONY FORD, 36, of Acacia Road, Southampton admitted two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress. Both charges relate to police officers. Ford received a one-year community order with an alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement of 120 days. He must also complete up to 10 rehabilitation days. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £200 fine and £85 court costs. 

WILLIAM VANDERSTICHELE, 36, of Honister Close, Southampton pleaded guilty to theft from a shop after he stole £56.20 worth of tea bags from Co-Op. He received a nine-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £40 court costs plus a £26 surcharge. 

JIMMY JAMES, 34, of Heather Road, Fawley pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker in Southern Road, Southampton. This relates to a police officer. He received a three-month sentence suspended for 18 months with an alcohol abstinence and monitoring requirement of 120 days and 15 rehabilitation days. James was ordered to pay £100 compensation as well as £85 court costs.
