A woman has been hospitalised with a head injury after a crash involving an e-scooter following a Take That concert in Southampton on Sunday evening.

Police rushed to Britannia Road, outside St Mary's Stadium, on Sunday, soon after the conclusion of the concert, following the collision.

A spokesperson said a female pedestrian, who was in her 50s, suffered a head injury and is now recovery in hospital.

The crash happened at around 11pm at the junction of Britannia Road and Northam Road, and the e-scooter rider did not stop at the scene, Hampshire Police said.

The rider was described as female, mixed-race, with a large black afro, and wearing a black hoodie.

The e-scooter was not one of the Voi hire scheme vehicles.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident, as well as any motorists who were in the area and have dash cam footage of the e-scooter rider.

More than 60,000 people attended the two Take That concerts at St Mary's on Saturday and Sunday night.

The chart-topping band, consisting of Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald, peformed a host of their greatest hits on the latest leg of their stadium tour, 'This Life on Tour'.

Their hits include Greatest Day, Relight My Fire, Back For Good and Rule the World.

However, there was disruption for some fans trying to get home to the Isle of Wight after the gig on Saturday, with an additional Red Jet sailing at 11.45pm, announced prior to the concert, full and unable to accommodate any more people.

Hundreds of foot passengers were instead forced to queue to get on the midnight car ferry, which departed late.
