Firefighters from Southampton extinguished a vehicle fire on the M27 at the weekend.
Crews from Redbridge and Eastleigh were alerted to a vehicle fire on the hard shoulder of the M27 westbound carriageway at around midday, Saturday, June 1.
The vehicle, between junctions 2 and 3, was “well alight as crews arrived”, according to the fire service.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) told the Echo: “The engine fire was extinguished by firefighters in breathing apparatus, using hose reels.
“HIWFRS left the scene following the stop message at 12.27pm.”
