An appeal has been launched after thousands of pounds was taken from a pensioner.

The victim, a woman in her 70s, reported that large sums of money had been taken from her bank account against her will over a period of around three months.

The theft was reported in March of this year.

Following extensive enquiries to locate the suspect, police are now keen to speak with a man to help with their investigation.

He is described as between 25 and 35-years-old, white, of slim build, between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall, with brown hair, and short dark beard/stubble.

In the image he can be seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue tracksuit bottoms, black socks and light blue sliders.
