Hunting around a car boot sale for a bargain is very much a traditional weekend pastime in the UK, but for those living in Southampton, it might be a struggle to find one.
There are very few running in the city itself but there are a few that are within an hour's drive if you want to find some.
Whether you're looking for something in particular or hoping to find the next deal of the century, visiting a car boot sale is still very popular.
Here are a few spots you can try out that are within a reasonable driving distance from Southampton.
Car boot sales within an hour's drive from Southampton
Quob Stables Indoor Car Boot Sale
Quob Stables on Dudley Brook Road in Southampton will be hosting indoor car boot sales on a couple of dates in the coming months.
Its Facebook page states that the next car boot sale will take place on Sunday, December 15.
The one after that is scheduled for Sunday, January 19 with plans to continue up until April before starting again next winter.
If you want to have a stall at the event you will need to message the Facebook page.
Romsey Car Boot Sale
Indoor car boot sales are currently running at Romsey Town Football Club on Thursdays.
Sellers can enter the premises from 9am to set up, with buyers allowed in from 10am to 1pm.
The Facebook page states that there is a 50p entry fee for buyers.
At the time of writing the most recent car boot sale took place on Thursday, November 14.
Shootash Car Boot Sale
Another car boot sale close to Romsey is the Shootash Car Boot Sale, which takes place on Tanners Lane near the hamlet of Shootash.
They run every Saturday from April to the end of November, with it costing £7 for a pitch for car.
Sellers are able to enter the site from 6.30am whilst buyers can come in from 7am. The car boot sales tend to run until midday.
The next car boot sale will take place on Sunday, November 17.
New Forest Car Boot Sale
The New Forest Car Boot Sale takes place at Strawberry Fields near Lymington, which runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Sellers can enter the site from 6am with there being a short delay before buyers can come in at 6.20am.
In terms of the cost for pitches, it is £10 for a van, £7 for a car plus an extra £2 on top if you have any trailers.
Meanwhile, it costs 50p per buyer to enter and there is no need for any sellers to book, as you can just turn up on the day.
At the time of writing, the car boot sales have concluded for the season and will return in 2025.

Brookfield Giant Car Boot Sale
Brookfield Giant Car Boot Sale takes place off Allington Lane near the village of Fair Oak which is not too far away from Eastleigh.
Their Facebook page states that car boot sales take place on Wednesdays and Sundays during their season.
Sellers can enter the site from 8am on Wednesdays and 6am on Sundays whilst buyers can enter from 10am on Wednesdays and 7am on Sundays.
There is no need to book so sellers can turn up on the day, and there is a notice that strictly no dogs are allowed on the site.
At the time of writing it is closed for the season and will reopen with car boot sales on Wednesday, April 2 and Sunday, April 6.
